How big are pig stalls?

The dimensions can vary, but a typical farrowing stall might measure around 6.5 feet (2 meters) in width and 7.5 to 8.5 feet (2.3 to 2.6 meters) in length. The front of the stall often has a barrier or gate that can be adjusted to allow the sow to stand or lie down while protecting the piglets.

2. Nursery Pens (for Weaned Piglets):

   - After weaning, piglets are often placed in nursery pens. These pens are designed to accommodate multiple piglets and provide space for feeding and movement. A standard nursery pen might measure around 2 feet (0.6 meters) in width and 5 to 6 feet (1.5 to 1.8 meters) in length per piglet. However, sizes can vary depending on the age and size of the piglets.

3. Growing and Finishing Pens:

   - Growing and finishing pens are used for older pigs that have been weaned and are raised for meat production. The space requirements increase as the pigs grow. In general, it's recommended to provide about 8 to 10 square feet (0.75 to 0.93 square meters) per pig in a group pen for growing pigs and about 10 to 15 square feet (0.93 to 1.4 square meters) per pig in a group pen for finishing pigs. These dimensions can vary based on local regulations and farming practices.
